The eight species
Each species gets its own tech tree, its own ship line and its own combat mechanic — not just a different colour.
Choosing a species is a one-time, permanent decision: you pick on your first login and play the season with it. That is deliberate — the choice is a real commitment, not a setting you flip mid-game.
Species balance is measured by simulation, not tuned by feel: current win rates sit between 42.2% and 76.6% at equal technology levels. There is no single right answer, but the species really do play differently.
Every species also has a passive perk — a concrete numeric edge that applies at one specific point in the game. They are listed below, species by species.
- Aurin — The widest ship roster in the universe — aggressive warfare, massive firepower.
- Cindrax — EMI blocking — disables enemy ships instead of destroying them. A mercenary army.
- Ilvexi — An insect-swarm civilization — cheap, mass-produced units that grind down the enemy by sheer numbers.
- Umbrix — Hidden fleets — undetectable by conventional probes, in size or composition.
- Ferrokin — A machine civilization — the strongest planetary defense, ships recycled after battle.
- Korrath — A spy and hacker network, ship theft — they would rather steal a fleet than build one.
- Zyvarn — An advanced, restrained technological civilization — they would rather self-destruct than let their knowledge fall into enemy hands.
- Ordris — An ancient, extremely advanced civilization with an indecipherable presence — they stand on the side of Order, and test younger species with questions.
